Why buyers are heading for the Hills

Why buyers are heading for the Hills
Homebuyers seeking nature-immersed respites are swapping coastlines for panoramic treetop skylines, heading to a peaceful lifestyle perched amongst Perth’s picturesque hills.

Realmark Urban Residential Sales Consultant Natalie Arnold said the appeal of buying in the Perth Hills laid very strongly in two things – a semi-rural environment within nature and the dynamics of the properties in the hills.

“The hills lifestyle is a very special one, with warm and down-to-earth communities, a huge arts and crafts presence, as well as a more holistic approach in terms of produce, farmers’ markets and quirky village centres for families, first homebuyers or downsizers who are coming in off larger rural properties,” she said.

“It is a lifestyle that takes you away from the city buzz, yet keeps it within reach.

“Being built on the slopes and undulation creates distinctive designs, as well as more natural materials being used in those homes.

“Some of our high-demand suburbs in the Perth Hills are Darlington, Glen Forrest, Mundaring, Helena Valley, Gooseberry Hill, Kalamunda and Boya, to name a few.”

For those desiring to head on up to a semi-rural suburb, Ms Arnold said to do your research and be ready to embrace a more natural way of living.

“Makes sure to do your due diligence around properties which are on septic tanks and natural gas, as opposed to being connected to main sewer and gas,” she said.

“Ensure you have looked into the builds themselves and how they function structurally, and make sure you understand what the requirements of living in bushfire zones are and how to protect your home.”

Ms Arnold said the Perth Hills had a bright future ahead of it, with its suburbs and homes set to grow alongside Western Australia.
